Aisling Phelan is an allergy and gut specialist dietitian with expertise in providing nutritional advice for food allergies and other adverse reactions to food, including food hypersensitivity. She has trained in some of the UK’s leading allergy centres, including St. Mary’s Hospital Imperial College London, Guy’s Hospital and University College London Hospital.

For food allergy, she sees clients with peanut, treenut, soy, fish, shellfish, milk, egg, wheat allergy, multiple food allergy, pollen food syndrome, lipid transfer protein (LTP) allergy, wheat and food-dependent exercise induced anaphylaxis, delayed (non IgE-mediated) allergy, eosinophilic oesophagitis, coeliac disease, histamine intolerance and salicylate sensitivity.

She is also experienced in managing functional gut symptoms and is trained in the use of the low FODMAP diet to manage IBS and other conditions often accompanied by troublesome symptoms such as abdominal pain, bloating, diarrhoea, fatigue, constipation, reflux and heartburn.

Aisling has a masters qualification in Nutrition and Dietetics, as well as a postgraduate diploma in Allergy from Imperial College London. A background in gastroenterology and respiratory dietetics has provided her with an excellent wealth of knowledge in the specialism of allergy.

Aisling also continues to work publicly in leading multi-disciplinary allergy centres, collaborates closely with some of the UK’s top allergy consultants and is currently working as a paediatric allergy dietitian at St. Mary’s Hospital and as an adult allergy dietitian at UCLH. This experience and ongoing training ensures that she is up-to-date with the most cutting-edge research and clinical practice. She is also a committee member of the Food Allergy Specialist Group of the British Dietetic Association and a member of the British Society of Allergy and Immunology (BSACI).

Aisling’s goal is to apply best practice, accurate and tailored advice to achieve tangible improvements to her clients’ quality of life.
